Wooden Bottle Stoppers (2016)

An independent exploration in the form of bottle stoppers.

In this independent project, I decided to further explore spindle turning on the lathe to create studies of bottle toppers. To display the stoppers, I made a holder out of walnut utilizing maple spline miter joints.

To create the bottle stoppers, I drilled and threaded a hole at the bottom of the turned pieces. I was then able to attach a screw and the stopper. I also experimented with turning two pieces of wood that I planed and glued together. All wood parts are finished with salad bowl oil.
